Shopping on line can be easy, simple and save you lots of money. It can also take a lot of your time, frustrate you, and result in unwanted purchases. Now the same can be said for regular high street shopping, but with the vast opportunity presented by the Internet it will pay you to spend a few minutes reading this and understanding how to better optimize your Transformers Classics shopping experience:

1. Compare - without doubt the biggest advantage that the Transformers Classics offers shoppers today is the ability to compare thousands of Transformers Classics at a time. This is a great thing, but not necessarily all the time! Too much can be daunting at times so take advantage of the great comparison sites and where possible let them do the hard work for you.

2. Research - if it has been said it will be on the internet. Ignorance is no longer a justifiable reason for buying the wrong thing. Take the time to research in detail everything that you could possible want to know about

3. Testimonials - don't know anybody that has bought a Transformers Classics? Wrong! If the Transformers Classics is good the internet will let you know. Use the Internet as a friend and get testimonials before you buy.

4. Questions - Got a question about Transformers Classics then search the Forums, FAQ's, Blogs etc. Don't be afraid to ask .....

5. Reputation - Never heard of the company selling Transformers Classics? Don't worry, no reason why you should know every company in the world, but you know someone that does! Use the internet to find out what people are saying about Transformers Classics and build up a picture of their reputation for sales, returns, customer service, delivery etc.

6. Returns - still worried that even after all of the above your Transformers Classics wont be what you want? Check out the returns policy. There is so much competition now that someone, somewhere is bound to offer the terms that you are comfortable with.

7. Feedback - happy with your Transformers Classics then let people know, after all you are depending on others people input in your buying decision, so why not give a little back.

8. Security - check for the yellow padlock on the Transformers Classics site before you buy, and the s after http:/ /i.e. https:// = a secure site

9. Contact - got a question about Transformers Classics, or want to leave a comment then check out the sites contact page. Reputable companies have them and respond.

10. Payment - ready to pay for your Transformers Classics, then use your credit card or PayPal! Be aware of companies that don't accept them, there may be genuine reasons but given the huge amount of choice you have when buying online there is no reason at all not to buy via credit card or PayPal.

Transformers Classics are a line of Transformers (toy line) that are based on and resemble the Transformers (toy line)#Transformers: Generation 1 (1984-1992) characters and figures introduced in the 1980s. The toyline was created to fill the gap in Transformers product releases between the end of the Transformers: Cybertron series and the start of the toyline based on the Transformers (2007 film) that was released in summer 2007, and also act as a tie-in to the release of the The Transformers: The Movie#Commercial releases edition.

The character designs have been updated to appeal to a modern audience and fans of the original 1984 toyline. The face and body are now more detailed than those of the 1984 toyline due to advancements in toy design technology. The line is notable for being the first Transformers toyline since the 1984 original to feature Decepticon leader Megatron as having a handgun for an alternate mode. It is also the first line since 1998, except for reissues, to include temperature sensitive insignia, a feature included among second and third year 1984 series toys as well.

The toys were officially announced to debut in November of 2006,Greg Lombardo, Hasbro’s Director of Marketing, "Hasbro Introduces ‘More Than Meets the Eye’ Transformers Classics Line" but have been found in large retail chains, such as Wal-Mart and Toys "R" Us, before the announced date.

Main toyline The main Classics toyline consists of all-new molds designed to resemble updated versions of several 1984 Transformers characters.

Wave 1 Autobots:

Decepticons:

Wave 2 Autobots:

Wave 3 Autobots:

Decepticons:

Box Sets The Ultimate Battle:

Battle for Autobot City: (Target Corporation exclusive)

Constructicons (Wal-Mart exclusive, recolor of Transformers: Energon Constructicon Maximus)

Soundwave (Transformers) (Toys R Us Exclusive)

Mini-Cons Several Mini-Con teams originally intended for release in the Transformers: Cybertron toyline were released in the Classics line to further expand it. Because they were designed for the former line, they do not resemble any Generation One characters, even though some of them share the same names. Four of these Mini-Cons were released in the Cybertron line as pack tie-ins with Cybertron Primus.

Classic Legends Repainted versions of the Micro class Legends of Cybertron subline from the Transformers: Cybertron toyline. Like the Mini-Cons, although they began life in a different toyline, they were repainted and released under the Classics heading to expand the toyline. While they were not designed as Generation One updates like the main line, their names and color schemes are homages to original characters.

BotCon 2007 Exclusive toys at BotCon 2007 have been made as an extension to the Classics line.

Games of Deception convention boxed set:

Other toys:

Prospective toys At BotCon 2006, a few prospective items were mentioned at the Hasbro design panel.
